Applicants must be able to show that they have worked in a client facing capacity with public sector clients, preferrably within Local Government.
You need to be able to demonstrate experience of:
- Working on process improvement projects
- Working on procurement cost reduction projects
- Working with e-procurement solutions, including purchase cards
- Writing tenders
- Writing white papers
- Dealing with clients
- Presenting to public sector bodies successfully
You must also:
- Have an awareness of current local government issues including an awareness of personalisation
- Have faultless written English
- Have an understanding of procurement technologies
- Have strong communication skills
- Display excellent commercial awareness
- Want to grow the business and be a self starter
- Have high integrity and be ethically aware
This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to create their own role and to help the MD develop our small, but well-regarded practice. You will have genuine independence but also have a guiding hand from the MD when you need it. There will be travel involved – mainly day trips in the UK, but we are continuing to deal across mainland Europe too so there may be opportunities to travel further afield. However, there is no anticipation that you will be expected to work for long periods of time away from your home.
The recruitment process will involve an initial interview, followed by a written submission to demonstrate your skills in writing tenders but also showing your imaginative thought. If successful at this stage, you will then be invited to present your ideas to the MD.
