The UK Border Agency has announced that they will be using prepaid cards for Section 4 payments to asylum seekers. These payments are for failed asylum seekers who are awaiting deportation. Prepaid cards will replace an existing voucher system which is administered through Councils and other partners alongside UKBA's payments supplier Sodexo. A regional pilot scheme is expected to go live this summer, with a nationwide roll-out to follow. |
