Ticon's implementation of prepaid at London Borough of Lewisham has won a PayBefore.com award for the best Non-US Based Prepaid Programme. Lewisham's prepaid scheme for young people leaving care has won a coveted award from PayBefore, the US's largest online resource for the prepaid industry. As one of the first authorities to implement prepaid Lewisham is continuing to expand their payment schemes and they are reaping the benefits. Ticon recently won a 2009 Global Business Excellence Award for Outstanding Prepaid Programme Manager in the public sector. We are currently working with more than 35 councils to help them implement prepaid cards. The UK Border Agency has announced that they will be using prepaid cards for Section 4 payments to asylum seekers. These payments are for failed asylum seekers who are awaiting deportation. Prepaid cards will replace an existing voucher system which is administered through Councils and other partners alongside UKBA's payments supplier Sodexo. A regional pilot scheme is expected to go live this summer, with a nationwide roll-out to follow. |
